Cuemath Strengthens Leadership Team Through Key Appointments Ushering In The Next Phase Of Growth

Cuemath, the global math tutoring platform, announced important steps to advance the company into its next phase of growth, including expanding its leadership team and reorganizing the current leadership structure. The company has appointed Samir Kulshresth as CFO, Nisha Popli as CHRO, Janardan Singh as Chief of Sales, Anushray Gupta as Chief Product and Technology Officer, to work with Vivek Sunder who took over as CEO in October of this year.

Focusing on reinventing the traditional way of teaching math, these key leadership appointments are critical to helping drive the company’s international expansion, along with its aim to double the number of students on its platform in 2022. The company will continue to strengthen the team in the upcoming months to further support its growth plan.

Janardan has over 20 years of business leadership experience, with expertise in scaling up the edtech sector. His last position was with ClassKlap as its Chief Operating Officer. Samir, a chartered accountant, has over 19 years of financial management experience across various sectors, including e-commerce, healthcare, telecom, and IT/ITES. He previously worked for Practo, Fortis Healthcare, Genpact, and Indus Towers, among others.

Nisha has over 19 years of experience in directing human resources programs for leading businesses, ranging from the Big Four accounting firms to leading global professional services firms. Before Cuemath, she was head of HR for Moglix India, a B2B e-commerce start-up. Her other positions include Head of People Office for the Small Format Business of Future Group India and global HR head with The Smart Cube, as well as other HR roles with KPMG, Grant Thornton, and Ernst & Young.

Anushray, who is returning to Cuemath, built the engineering and product team and laid the foundation for the global math learning platform as CTO during his first stint in the company. He then moved to Udaan as product lead for their grocery vertical, where he played a key role in increasing market share while improving the business fundamentals. While Samir Kulshresth and Nisha Popli have already joined Cuemath, Janardan Singh and Anushray Gupta will join in January 2022.

Vivek replaced Manan Khurma as Cuemath’s new CEO in October 2021, while Manan continued in his role as Founder and Chairman. Manan and Vivek are announcing this significant reorganization of the top executives in the company to illustrate Cuemath’s strong growth potential.

Manan Khurma founded Cuemath in 2013, and he has been instrumental in its 10x growth since its inception. While Vivek will continue to head the India operations, working closely with Manan to execute Cuemath’s growth strategy and global expansion, the new C-suite executives will report to Vivek in their respective roles. The newly appointed senior leadership will combine efforts with Vivek to steer the platform to new heights and achieve the ‘Teaching Math the Right Way’ vision of Cuemath 3.0.

Commenting on these new appointments, Manan Khurma, Founder and Chairman at Cuemath said, “Our vision, student-centric focus, and learning outcomes have well-positioned Cuemath as a leader in math tutoring. As we prepare for our next wave of growth, these leadership changes are designed to strengthen governance at Cuemath 3.0 and provide support for our goal of spreading to 50 countries and growing to be a global math leader. With Vivek at the helm, supported by the able senior leadership talent, the company is poised to scale greater heights. I wish them the very best in their new roles.”

Vivek Sunder, CEO at Cuemath, adds, “We exist to create a better ecosystem to teach mathematics and consistently deliver positive learning outcomes. Everything we do boils down to building the next generation of creative thinkers and problem solvers. The new array of dedicated leaders makes me more confident about and committed to this new chapter of Cuemath’s growth, integrating our diverse knowledge and expertise in realizing the company’s vision.”

Cuemath is a global online math learning platform backed by marquee investors including Lightstone Aspada, Alpha Wave Incubation, Sequoia Capital India, CapitalG (formerly Google Capital), and Manta Ray. The edtech brand, which has a presence in more than 20 countries, has over 200,000 students leveraging its platform at present.
