Alera Group Announces New Chief Human Resources Officer

Alera Group, a leading insurance and financial services firm, has appointed Debra Martinez as the organization’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective immediately.

In this role, Martinez will lead the strategic direction of all aspects of talent management, including training and development, diversity & inclusion, employee compensation, benefits and retention and M&A integration efforts. Her expertise lies in aligning HR processes and programs with ongoing business goals, along with developing effective recruiting, development and retention programs.

“Debra’s collaborative management style, combined with her history of working with rapidly growing organizations, uniquely positions her to lead Alera Group’s HR operations,” said Alan Levitz, CEO of Alera Group. “We are fortunate to have such an outstanding professional joining our leadership team and we warmly welcome her to Alera Group.”

With more than 25 years of experience, Martinez joins Alera Group from Exterran, where she served as the Global Vice President of Human Resources. In her previous position, she championed diversity, workforce planning and human resource strategy as an integral part of the overall business plan.

“I am thrilled to join Alera Group and contribute to the company’s market leadership position through impactful talent strategies,” said Martinez. “It is clear to me that the company prioritizes its people and I’m honored to further the collaborative culture that defines the organization.”

Martinez holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Roosevelt University and Bachelor of Arts from Chicago State University. She will be based out of Houston, Texas.
